This article was recently accepted for publication in Infection Control & Hospital Epidemiology. In this paper, authors from Duke University present findings from a new study evaluating the impact that wearing a mask has on the spread of COVID-19 among health care workers. They found that universal masking led to a significant decrease in the rate of infection among this at risk population.

This article is important because it provides further evidence supporting the need for all health care providers, including doctors of chiropractic, to be vigilant about requiring all staff and patients to wear masks in the office. This simple action is necessary, in addition to physical distancing and hand washing, to protect our patients, ourselves and our families from the coronavirus.
